Preparation

Your aim here is to produce a portrait that reflects the personality of the subject with technical accuracy and aesthetic appeal

1.    Chat with your subject and make notes about the style of portrait to shoot.

2.    Select a suitable location and background.

3.    Do some preliminary checks on light levels so that you can choose the correct film.

Technical Tips

Project 1

1.    Select a film suitable for portraiture.

2.    Load the film correctly.

3.    Choose your 'portrait' lens.

4.    Set the ISO on your camera.

5.    Set your camera to Aperture Priority or Manual settings.

6.    Check your exposure reading.

7.    NOW pose your subject and fire off your shots, talking and communicating.

8.    Don't fiddle!!
