Posing the Subject - preparation
Meet face to face in a relaxed situation with plenty of time and a minimum of distractions
Ask the client to collect ideas and samples to indicate the image and style of the photograph
Ask lots of questions and take a few notes
Be genuinely interested in your subject
Find at least one really positive feature - hair, eyes, muscles, dress sense or their sense of humour.
When the subject leaves this meeting, they should be excited at the prospects of the shoot and confident that you are going to look after their every need and produce great results.
