Project 5 – Portrait

Photographing people is fun! Capturing the personality and energy of an individual rewards both the photographer and the subject. Your task here is to achieve three shots – a full length, head and shoulders and a big close-up of the face only.

Tips:

• Switch onto Portrait mode or aperture priority (Av)
• Use the tele setting not the wide-angle setting
• Focus on the person, particularly their eyes
• Choose a wonderful background – dark green foliage is a winner.
• Place your subject a minimum of 2 metres from background
• Stay close to your subject – ideally 1.5metres – 3 metres distance
• Try to be slightly higher than your subject
